TechHub ("we", "us", "our") is operated by DigiTrendz. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Account Information
When you register, we collect your username, email address, and a hashed password. You may optionally provide a bio and avatar.
Content You Post
Stories, comments, and votes you submit are stored and associated with your account. Public content is visible to all visitors.
Usage Data
We collect anonymised analytics including page views, story clicks, and general interaction patterns. This data is aggregated and not tied to individual identities.
Technical Data
We log IP addresses for security purposes (rate limiting, abuse prevention). These logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To operate and improve the platform
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure
- To send you notifications you've opted into
- To detect and prevent spam and abuse
- To generate anonymised usage statistics
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Your dark/light mode preference is stored in localStorage, not a cookie.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with third parties except:
- Hosting provider (Hostinger): Your data is stored on their servers. See Hostinger's Privacy Policy.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law.
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained until you delete your account.
- Public posts (stories, comments) may remain visible after account deletion in anonymised form.
- Security logs are deleted after 30 days.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data

7. Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We follow industry-standard security practices, but no system is 100% secure.
8. Children
TechHub is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
